I told this girl I liked her Union Jack shirt.
And she asked me what a Union Jack was.

So I almost went ape shit, especially after she went “Oh it’s England’s flag.”
We were in my Lit classroom, and my teacher is super nerdy and into all this/Anglo-Saxon stuff, so most of these flags were up.
She got this whole lesson on how it worked, with a little sass thrown in.

It’s a problem that I can tell that.
I have come to the conclusion that good books will leave you with a smile on your face.
But great books will leave you heartbroken and likely in the fetal position because the author steals your soul with their words, and the very thought of leaving the world and the characters hurts.
so one of my best friends from when we were younger just got engaged. we drifted apart in the last couple years, but that’s alright(: her now finace had been away in, in officer school i believe, with the marines. so the video is just her sitting on the couch in sweatpants with her hands over her eyes, she thinks she’s just getting a christmas present (and well she is C;). I of course turn down the volumne, because i know she’s going to scream(: then he comes over, in uniform, and kneels down next to her. he’s like a giant, and she’s suepr small, so her standing his not much taller than him on his knee. she doesn’t notice him at first, so he just taps her leg with his hand holding the ring box. she blanks for a moment then dives at him, completely missing the ring.
She hugs him for a while, screaming and crying cause it’s been a while since she’d seeen him. he’s just hugging her and holding the ring in his hand. her grandad, holding the camera goes “he’s got something for ya” and she’s crying and says she doesn’t even care. her fiance then gets her focus and quietly asks her, and the she stares at him, and shook her head, then he goes “Yeah right!” and looks up at her with a huge grin on each of their faces, and he almost puts it on the wrong finger and i cried and it was so cute and wonderful, and they’re young, but mature and im super happy andhgfhsdfrjkf.
